Today, we are dehydrating some watermelon. I’ve never been one who LOVES watermelon. I’ll eat it, but I don’t get real excited about it. But, let me tell you, dehydrated watermelon is GOOD! It’s like candy. So, how do you do it?
It’s really simple but it does take a long time to dehydrate (obviously….it’s mostly water). Chop your melon into triangles with about 1/2 inch thickness. Lay directly on your trays. Dehydrate between 145-160 degrees for possibly up to 36 hours. You can rotate the trays and also flip the melon pieces over at around 18-24 hours.
The watermelon we are dehydrating today took up 7 trays.
Everyone in our house really likes it. It goes super fast!
